Facts

  • President Donald Trump held a rally in South Carolina on Thursday, October 29, 2026, for Sen. Darline Graham, in what the Associated Press called an ‘unexpectedly tight’ South Carolina Senate race. Republicans are anxious about it, the AP reported, and holding the state is seen as essential to keeping their Senate majority.
  • Graham is the sister of the late Sen. Lindsey Graham and was appointed by the Republican governor to fill the rest of his term, according to the AP. Her Democratic opponent is Annie Andrews, a pediatrician who previously ran unsuccessfully for Congress.
  • The AP cited no polls. It said this was Trump’s second South Carolina trip this month. He won the state by nearly 18 percentage points in 2024.
  • In a social media post Thursday morning, Trump called Graham ‘fantastic’ and wrote that ‘Lindsey is watching, and very proud of her!!!’
  • Asked at the rally about Democratic Alaska Senate nominee Mary Peltola, Trump said ‘you’re going to have to see what happens’ and that ‘It’s hard to believe that she could even be allowed to run,’ the AP reported.
  • WORLD Radio reported that Trump told the crowd to elect a Republican House and Senate on November 3. Democrats are widely expected to win the House while the Senate remains in play, with tight races also in Texas, Kansas, Iowa, Ohio, Maine and Alaska, WORLD reported.
  • Election Day is Tuesday, November 3.
