FACTS: Vitamin K is now no longer primarily used for blood clotting. Researchers at the Institute of Metabolism and Cell Death at Helmholtz, Munich, have recently conceived significant data on Vitamin K being able to mitigate ferroptotic cell death, which is directly linked to acute organ damage and Alzheimer’s disease.
QUOTES: Dr. Marcus Conrad, Institute of Metabolism and Cell Death at Helmholtz Munich,“Our results, therefore, link the two worlds of ferroptosis research and vitamin K biology. They will serve as the stepping stone for the development of novel therapeutic strategies for diseases where ferroptosis has been implicated“.
